Will Micah Parsons Be a Difference Maker for the Packers Once He Comes Back?

Micah Parsons Packers 2025.

Green Bay defensive end Micah Parsons has opened camp on the PUP list. Via Josh Alper at profootballtalk.com.

Parsons is not expected to be ready to return from his torn ACL until October at the earliest. He can move to the reserve version of the PUP list at the cut to 53 players, which would keep him out at least four games.

The Packers are going to miss Parsons. From Brad Biggs at the Chicago Tribune.

The Packers had three sacks in their final four regular-season games — all losses — as Parsons was injured in Week 15 in Denver. They sacked Caleb Williams once in the wild-card loss to the Bears at Soldier Field. Parsons is a multiplier and elite performer, but he could be a one-man gang. Will he be on the field for the Week 5 meeting with the Bears on Oct. 11 at Lambeau Field?

My question exactly. It will be interesting to see if Parsons and the Packers can make that happen.

But even if Parsons is on the field, how much of a difference will he make? These players come back from ACL injuries earlier than ever but, after being out most of an entire year, they frequently don’t return to form right away. I’ve never been exactly sure why but I suspect that player push themselves to get back as early as possible before the knee is quite all the way back to where it was.

Bottom line, the Packers may have a rough time pressuring opposing quarterbacks until 2027.
